Emergencies, Office Policies and Billing Information For medical emergencies that arise after office hours there is always a member of our group on call. We employ an answering services which can be reached by dialing our regular office phone number. This service will contact the physician on call for you. All non-emergency problems should be handled during regular office hours. This includes prescription refills. Medications are not refilled on weekends or after office hours. Health care costs have risen dramatically in recent years. In keeping with our goal of providing quality medical care at a reasonable cost to our patients, we have instituted the following policies. We accept assignment on all Medicare patients, and we are members of many health maintenance organizations and participating provider organizations. All copays for these patients will be collected at the time of service. For private patients who do not fall into one of these categories, we ask for payment at the time of service. We will submit a claim to your insurance carrier for you. Any reimbursement from them will be sent directly to you. Patients who cannot pay at the time of service are asked to make arrangements with our bookkeeping department. We accept VISA and MasterCard, checks and cash.
